The Red Creek Salve is named after my favorite trail and camping spot in West Virginia and is a modified recipe of the oil I've been making to treat my eczema for years now. This balm, packed with skin-loving and itch-relieving herbs, is perfect for healing the dry skin and irritation that comes with eczema and other drying rashes. This balm contains itch-fighting herbs like violet leaf, anti-inflammatory herbs like stinging nettle and healing herbs like calendula, infusing in oils for at least a month to make sure all the healing herbal properties aren't damaged by heat. To make sure all of that goodness and moisture gets locked into your skin, the Red Creek Salve contains fair-trade mango butter and raw local honey. Unlike most salves, my balms are made with non-comedogenic infused oils that sink into the skin rather than forming a greasy film that sits on top. As a hard balm, it travels well and keeps you from using too much, so a single tin will last you a very long time. It can be used on any dry, irritated skin like cracked fingers from gardening, rock climbing or just working with your hands, or used to quell the itch from healing wounds.

My salves are not made with artificial colors, scents or essential oils so they are compatible with all skin types, including sensitive skin. The oils used in this recipe are all organic, and all herbs used are either foraged or grown in my garden to ensure that they're ethically sourced and don't contain any pesticides. Beeswax used in my balms and salves is obtained from a local apiary to make sure the wax is extracted ethically and support local farmers trying to rebuild our bee population. All Red Creek Salves are topped with calendula petals as a seal of my approval of quality. Make sure to check the ingredients listed on case of allergies, and ask your doctor if you're unsure of any herbs.
